Everything you need to know to get started!
Everything you need to know to get started!
Step One: Get a Topic
Check out the topics and find one that matches up with your expertise. If you have an idea for a topic that isn't mentioned in the list, that's great too! Consider having a few backup topics in mind in case someone else has just reserved one of them. Pick something you can write approximately 200-2000 words over.
Step Two: Contact Us
When you're ready to choose a topic, fill out this Google Form with your info and topic description: https://goo.gl/forms/MzOy2I1ZFtg0YRMB2
If you have questions, contact Caroline Meek or Olivia Rogers to discuss contributing.

Step Three: Write
Start writing!
The deadline for having articles in is May 1 2017, but sooner is always better, so we can get started on editing.

Step Five:
Tell the world what you're doing! Self-promotion is super important, especially in self-publishing. Know someone with a weird obsession with writing characters with exotic accents? Tell your writerly friends about this opportunity - let's involve as many people as possible! This is a group effort to create a community writing resource.
And tell the world what you're doing. Take to Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Tumblr, and all your beautiful blogs and let people know what's coming! Word can travel quickly, especially with something as wonderfully useful as a writing resource for teens, by teens!
We'll also be asking for some blogger peeps to mention Project Canvas on their blogs, and later, participate in a blog tour for the release of the book! Let us know if you're interested in this.
We'll be using the hastag, #projectcanvas. :)
