Everyone's got their own style, their own voice. Our prompt was interpreted in many different ways and the result was a collection of unique, contemplative and creative pieces. Thank you to everyone who participated in this contest!

Ashley ChongAshley J Chong is a writer with instincts in poetry and creative nonfiction, a singer-songwriter, and an ever-curious learner. She was awarded the Iowa Chapbook Prize for her chapbook, A Flower Petal Space, and has two other brain children out in the universe: the exhibition Fractals of Identity, and the MADANG anthology. Ashley is presently working on too many projects, including experimental jazz, Korean diaspora, mental health, pink jellyfish and others while also trying to find balance between melancholy, idea generation, and movement.

Skyler BarnesSkyler Barnes is a junior attending The University of Iowa. She majors in English and Creative Writing (surprising huh?), and was accepted into Robyn Schiff's Advanced Poetry Workshop this fall. She served as Vice President of Young Writers of Kansas City and has co-authored a book of poetry and short stories. And believe it or not, writing author bios is not her forte.

Julia ComerJulia Comer is a sophomore at the University of Iowa, studying English & Creative Writing. She's a writer and aspiring editor, specializing in fiction and poetic prose, and is working towards a career in publishing.

Hannah OlssonHannah Olsson is a sophomore at the University of Iowa studying Cinema and English & Creative Writing. In the past, Hannah has completed various poetry, short prose, and screenplay pieces, some of which have been published in University publications such as InkLit. Magazine. Currently, she is working on a novel that she hopes to publish in the future. When she is not writing, Hannah can usually be found in the corners of coffee shops or hiking the mountains in her hometown of Grand Junction, Colorado.
